The Obama Administration is fulfilling a campaign promise today (March 8, 2012) with the launch of the new database, Ethics.gov. President Obama made a commitment to America that he would “create a centralized Internet database of lobbying reports, ethics records, and campaign finance filings in a searchable, sortable, and downloadable format.” Ethics.gov accomplishes this promise and demonstrates President Obama’s priority of creating a government that is more accountable and transparent to its citizens. With its easy-to-use format, anyone can access the website and browse the records compiled in seven different datasets:
1. White House Visitor Records Requests
2. Federal Election Commission Individual Contribution Reports
3. Federal Election Commission Committee Reports
4. Federal Election Commission Candidate Reports
5. Lobbying Disclosure Reports
6. Department of Justice Foreign Agents Registration Act Records
7. Office of Government Ethics Travel Reports
