Have any burning questions you’d love to ask Washington?
The Atlantic is teaming up with social-media platform Reddit to adapt the popular “Ask Me Anything” format to their new politically themed experiment: “Ask Washing Anything.” These crowdsourced, video-taped interviews will feature politicians and Washington insiders who will answer YOUR questions and provide a unique look at what’s happening in Washington right now.
Up first:
Joe Manchin, Democratic Senator from West Virginia
Grover Norquist, founder and president of Americans for Tax Reform
Sam Kass, executive director of Let’s Move!
A comment thread for each interviewee has been set up on Reddit, where you can go to ask questions and vote on your favorites. By 3pm ET today (Nov. 12), the top ten questions from each thread will be collected and used in tomorrow’s interviews. The video interviews will be available for viewing on Friday, November 15, on The Atlantic’s video channel.
Here’s what The Atlantic says about their exciting initiative:
“AMAs” are popular for a reason: they offer users a chance to engage interesting people in direct, authentic, and delightfully unscripted conversation. We hope Ask Washington Anything allows interviewees and users alike to go beyond stale talking points—to discuss the big-picture issues that matter most right now and take a behind-the-scenes look at how Washington really works.
